These slippers are fun to knit and make a great gift. They knit up super quick and are then felted using your washing machine.  You can personalize them with a special color yarn and contrast stitching.  Kids will love these slippers, felted merino wool is the perfect material for slippers:
Natural fiber--so they breathe, keeping little feet at the perfect temperature
Soft--so they can be worn barefoot
Flexible--they conform to shape of foot after a few wearings

Skill level: intermediate - slippers are knit both flat and in the round.

 

 

Pattern includes directions for slippers in three sizes:
Small: child's shoe size 7-8, slippers are about 6" (fit a 1-2 year old)
Medium: child's shoe size 9-10, slippers are about 6.75" (fit a 2 1/2 - 3 1/2 year old)
Large: child's shoe size 11-12, slippers are about 7.5" (fit a 4-5 year old)


Note:  looking for a size to fit a bigger kid?  The women's slipper pattern works perfectly for bigger kids feet.  You can purchase the pattern here on my site.

Directions include lots of color pictures, very detailed knitting instructions, definitions of stitches used and complete felting instructions.

Materials needed:
16" circular knitting needle in size 10.5
100% wool worsted weight yarn, suggested yarn Patons Classic Wool, (yardage varies depending on size, 80-150 yards
stitch markers
yarn needle


Note:  these slippers are knit using one strand of worsted weight yarn.


Finish your slippers with leather or vinyl slipper bottoms (shown in last two photos). They add durability and make the slippers non-skid. You can purchase them separately here on my site.
These slippers are also available in men's sizes, and women's sizes so you can make them for the whole family!
