The Cable Warmer is a simple classic design perfect for men or women.  The cable pattern is a very simple repeat, suitable for beginner knitters.  The garter stitch top and bottom edge makes the warmer reversible so it possible to wear this warmer many different ways, straight up, folded over or doubled.  It uses less than one ball of yarn for the body and a small amount of yarn for the contrasting cable.  The Cable Warmer is a quick knit and a perfect take along project.

Skill level:  beginner with knowledge of knit and purl stitches

Materials and supplies:

50-60 yards of worsted weight yarn for cable
180-200 yards of worsted weight yarn in contrasting color for body
Size US 8 (5mm) straight knitting needles 
Size US 9 (5.5mm) 16" circular knitting needles
stitch marker

Finished size (can easily be made larger or smaller):

Women’s –  20” around, 10” high (51cm x 25.5cm)
Men’s – 22” around, 10” high (56cm x 25.5cm)
